Individual Therapy
Through the joining of the therapist and individual, pathways to encourage change or enhance the desired quality of life are explored and processed. This supports individuals in identifying and problem solving the obstacles to their well-being, while increasing positive feelings, such as compassion, empathy and self-esteem. The process encourages autonomy, self-determination and empowerment. This type of therapy is aimed to provide individual skills to manage difficult situations, make healthy decisions, achieve self-determined goals, increase self-awareness and promote individual growth.
Children & Adolescents
Children and teens often experience the same "big emotions" as adults, caused by stress, trauma and/or life transitions, the difference is they do not yet possess the vocabulary or brain development to process these events in the same way as adults.
Thus, incorporating research-informed age-appropriate therapy is critical to supporting them in moving through life’s challenges and learning skills to provide foundational strength throughout their lives. Services provided at Hope, Healing and Wholeness utilize therapeutic techniques found in play therapy, art therapy and traditional talk therapy.
Couples Therapy
Pre-marital Therapy for Couples
Prepare for a lifetime together by having the important conversations ahead of time, in a supportive environment. Seeking premarital therapy to support understanding and perspective of important life issues can be foundational to lasting relationships. Together the couple explores finances, intimacy, religion, children, in-laws, family dynamics, communication, marital roles, politics and any other topic meaningful to the relationship, providing support, encouragement, and the tools to build a lasting marriage with our help.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy can resolve a current problem, prevent heightened escalation of marital challenges or simply provide an opportunity for a happy couple to work through periods of transition or increased stress. Common areas of concern addressed in couples therapy include issues with money, parenting, sex, infidelity, in-laws, chronic health issues, infertility, gambling, substance use, emotional distance and frequent conflict. Working together, the couple determine areas of concern, goals and are provided a safe environment to process emotions, problem solve and effectively communicate.
Family Therapy
By working with families to nurture change and development within systems and addressing specific issues such as marital challenge, financial problems, conflict between family members, or the impact of substance abuse, mental illness on the entire family, families are able to build healthy bonds which encourage growth, empathy and understanding. Family therapy explores the dynamic of the system, identifies strength in the family, provides insight to generational impacts to current family dynamics, roles within the family and supports the family in determining how to utilize current strengths to overcome identified challenges.
